If you have not been living under the proverbial rock, then you must know that in the last year or so, Bangalore has been taken over by food trucks of all shapes, sizes and cuisine. They are there everywhere, and serve up everything from juicy beef burgers to burrito bowls and pav bhaji to banana pancakes. And there’s a spanking new French food truck that has just joined the bandwagon too last month. We pick eleven trucks that you need to find your way to because of their grub.
The Spitfire Barbecue Truck
Known for their New York-style Chilli Hot Dogs, Hickory-Smoked Barbecue Chilli Chicken Pops and slow cooked Pork Ribs. We also heart their tagline: “It’s no sin to get sauce on your chin.” Who doesn’t like messy when it comes to good food.
Spotted around: Frazer Town, Kammanahalli, Indiranagar and Sahakarnagar
The SWAT Truck
Molten Cheese Nachos, Peri Peri Prawns, Fish and Chips, Beef Burger, BBQ Pork Ribs and Chops are crowd pleasers from the menu. We also love their Deep Fried Oreos for dessert.
Spotted around: Indiranagar, Koramangala, HSR Layout
The Great Indian Bhukkad
These guys specialise in North Indian and Indian Chinese combos along with sandwiches and rolls that are stuffed with similar fillings. Expect the Szechwans and Manchurians along with the rajmas and the choles.

Fuel Up
Chicken wings drenched in BBQ Sauce, meaty Potato Skins and crunchy nachos for starters, Burrito Bowls and Fajita wraps for mains, Fuel Up mostly serves Mexican fare with Churros and Creme Brûlée for dessert.

Square Ruth
Steaks, Fish and Chips, chicken wings, burgers and breakfast specials such as French toast, pancakes and eggs done sunny side up are on the menu.

Wicked Chef Gourmet On The Go
Their menu reads like a Goan shack on wheels. French fries, Banana and Maple Pancakes, Beer Battered Fish and Chips are truck specials.
Spotted around: Indiranagar and Whitefield
Foodipa
Chaat on wheels! Just our kind of snacking fantasy. Foodipa dishes up not the usual truck grub like hot dogs and burgers, but instead does chaat, samosa, kachoris, Sev Puri, Chole Bhature and parathas.
Seen around: Basavanagar, Indiranagar and Whitefield
Just Bake Dessert Mobile
The bakery chain’s dessert truck offers tea cakes, brownies, chocolate and lemon mini tarts, muffins, sandwiches and more. Look out for their rusks and buttery Shrewsbury biscuits, available in tins.

The Lalit Food Truck Company
This food truck comes from The Lalit Ashok hotel in Bangalore and offers Mexican bites such as Fiery Vegetable Chimichanga, Jalapeño Omelette Sandwich, Chicken Quesadillas and even combos that include a main, fries and an aerated drink. For dessert, there is chocolate brownies served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a thick Oreo shake.

De3
BBQ chicken wings, Roasted Chicken Burger, Veg Cheesy Burgers, Cheesy Mayo Sandwiches, Grilled Chicken Roll and American-style hot dogs are de rigueur at the De3 food truck.
Spotted around: Langford Road, Kamanhalli and Kalyan Nagar
Le Casse Croûte
This is supposedly Bangalore’s first French food truck. Translated from French, the name of the truck means a snack or a light meal. The menu promises French croq or toasted sandwiches such as the Monsieur Le Goff, a sandwich stuffed with fresh prawns and homemade aioli or the Monsieur Martin with bacon, eggs, Béchamel sauce, mustard and veggies. Homemade gazpacho soup and French fries are sides and for dessert, there’s homemade Caramel Cream made with salted butter. Yum!
