Ramadan Delicacies in Pune

The month of Ramadan is considered to be the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar which follows a ritual of fasting and prayers from dawn to dusk. With sunset, it’s time for iftar when feasting follows rigorous fast and the contrast at the buffet parties couldn’t be starker. Pune might not be well-known for its Iftar food but it sure does have some mouth-watering delicacies that you must get your hands on for Iftar. So here is a list of Ramadan Delicacies in Pune!

Hotel Imdadi – Synagogue Street, Camp

This restaurant focus only on Mughlai Food for Ramadan. With a seating for about 200 people and a warm staff, they also have a separate family room as well. When the Haleem, Dalcha Khana and Shahi Tukda is served, everyone on the table knows there will be no more talking.

The restaurant follows a token system so you know you will not end up paying for something you haven’t ordered. The Haleem, served with a generous garnishing of fried onions, Dalcha Khana, Musk Melon Falooda and Kesar Phirni are worth getting your clothes dirty.

Sharif Caterers – Kausar Baug, Kondhwa

Chicken Chakori

While this place offers goodies all here around, most of the dishes get sold out at the stalls even before Iftaar timings. Sharif Caterers is a 13 year old family run business and one of the biggest Iftar food stalls in the area. Offering more than 120 Iftaar items, they claim their speciality items to be the Chicken Chakori, Chicken Makka and Chicken Lollipops.

But the throne for the best food in this stall is currently occupied by the Phirni.

Shalimar’s – Hidayatulla Road, Azam Campus

The Azam campus joints are famous majorly for its chicken dishes. There isn’t much place to park your vehicle and sit at ease to enjoy your meal but if you are looking at takeaways, this is the place to be. The Dragon Roll on their menu is one of the many mouth-watering dishes which is a must-try. Other delicious dishes offered by this place is the Chicken Palak Sesame Roll and Mini Faloodas.

Shivaji Market – Camp

If you are looking for Haleem, Kebab and Naan on any other day of the year, you might want to come to Shivaji Market. During Ramzan, this place turns into a foodie paradise with a wide variety of food items to choose from.

Chicken and Mutton Cutlet

The items mostly served here are the Chicken and Mutton Cutlets and the Kadhai Gosht.

  1. Finally before the end of the precious month Ramadan and the exact window to have some real yummy delicacies I found your blog when I am in much need of something like this . I have visited the sharief caters earlier this week and will be hunting the other two of them in camp road.
