At Zoomcar, our focus has always been on environmental consciousness and giving something back to society. In the past, we have taken several initiatives like a day out with children of Infant Jesus Charity Home or #MyCleanBangalore where we took the onus of a cleanliness drive or the tree plantation drive. But we want to mold this into a more active initiative, with regular participation from Zoomcar and its customers. In the same spirit, Zoomcar has initiated a social campaign called “Do Your Bit”, an endeavor to give something back to society.
We visited Lovedale Foundation, Banyan School in Hennur Road, Bangalore. The whole idea was to invite our top customers to participate in this effort. We always have corporates donating their money for the cause, but never their time. We wanted to change that. And it was a delight to have our customers show enthusiasm for this initiative!
So on 12 March, team Zoomcar along with our customers, visited Lovedale to spend an entire day with underprivileged children. There were 200 kids present! We all got a wonderful opportunity to spend time with students from grades 1-9. We got a chance to talk about & discuss varied topics like basic computer skills, maths, health & sanitation. And it was not just all work and no play. There were games, too! And of course, we had organized lunch for all the kids, volunteers & employees. What’s more, there was a free dental camp organized by Oxford Dental College. And the children who need advanced treatment, will be treated free of cost at the hospital.
It was a great day not just for the kids at Lovedale, but also for Zoomers. They shared with us their experience about how happy & content they were after having spent time with the children. They actually felt a sense of pride in bringing a smile to the kids’ faces!
While this was the first step of Do Your Bit, we hope to create many such endeavors in the future, not just in Bangalore but also in our other 6 cities. We hope to receive the full support of our Zoomers. Together, let’s do our bit!
