But what many people don’t know, is that the food in Bangalore is a class apart as well. Here’s our pick of the best places you have to eat at when in Bangalore, so don’t miss even one!
Shri Sagar (C.T.R.)
Earlier known as Central Tiffin Rooms or CTR, now called Shri Sagar (C.T.R.). The crowd here is unbelievable; at any given hour, it is crowded. Getting a table will be a bit of a wait, but it’s definitely worth it! Benne masala dosa or the Benne plain dosa is simply the best you would have ever tasted.
And the filter coffee is just spot on every time! The price suits the pocket easily, and this is for sure one of the best places to eat South Indian food in Bangalore.

Veena Stores
Located in Malleswaram, this hole in the wall shop sells the fluffiest idlis, crispiest vadas, yummy pongal (both spicy and sweet) and the best khara bath (upma).
The long lines are proof enough of how good the food is here; by the way, the shop runs on a token system, so make sure you stand in line for them!

Truffles Ice & Spice
An oldie but goodie, Ice and Spice is known for their Lamb Burgers and subs of all kinds. The desserts, too, are to die for, so make sure to try the Cheesecake and the Mississippi Mud Pie.
They have recently moved into a larger space, but with food this good they still don’t have enough room for everyone. The place is well worth the wait!

Hole in the Wall Cafe
Deemed to be the best place for English/Continental breakfast in Bangalore, Hole in the Wall delivers the best and most mouth watering food.
Here as well, there’s a wait. But it’s worth it when you have yummy in your tummy!

Portland Steak House and Cafe
The absolute best place for steaks in Bangalore. Located on Brunton Road, this amazing steak house cooks your meal to perfection. They also believe that you eat with your eyes first, and each dish is presented to you with beautiful garnishes and served like a surprise (your plate is covered with a cloche and is opened at your table)!

Maiyas Restaurant
If you are looking for the best south Indian thali with perfect filter coffee, then Maiyas in the place to be. Their South Indian thali comes to you with a whopping 24 dishes! Make sure to skip a breakfast or dinner if you plan to eat this meal.
