My partner and I had booked a Zoomcar an XUV 500, from New Delhi. When the car was given to us, it had all necessary papers and documents neatly filed and even had a thorough check-up before the handover was processed.
The route we decided to head off on was Delhi to Simla then to Sangla continued on the road to Kinnaur then finally Lahaul & Spiti Valley. We started out on the 16th July and decided to stay on the road until 24th July The total run was over 1800 Kms.
We drove through highways, they were not in a good condition, and would definitely classify as bad roads. The road on believed to be the“world’s most treacherous route” was one such road that we crossed on this trip.
We crossed around 30 rivers, many mountains, innumerable passes, streams, lakes, and tunnels. From deep gorges to high peaks, we touched them all. Kunzom Top standing at a height of 15000 feet, and Rohtang Top was the places we made sure to be at.
We topped up the car with diesel at the world’s highest fuel station in Kaza, visited India’s highest altitude village Kaumik, and also visited world’s oldest monastery, said to be 1020 years old at Tabo. From the city’s traffic filled roads to places where no vehicles are seen for miles together, we all it all on this trip. We drove on plains, through ghats, alongside the roaring Sutlej, Spiti, Baspa and Beas rivers. From bountiful apple orchards to places where there’s absolutely no vegetation.
The beautiful Lahaul and Spiti landscape unfolded before us and we simply were in awe of what nature offered us and felt dwarfed in front of the Himalayas.
This amazing trip was organized by Adventures Overland, who are a profession travel Company from Delhi .
We passed through all kind of difficult terrains on the course of this journey. The XUV rose to the challenge and gave an excellent service throughout the journey. This was the only XUV in the convoy of 8 cars having manual transmission gears and other cars were Mercedes & Ford endeavor with auto mechanism.
I appreciate the services given by Zoomcar and shall use the service in the coming future trips from various metro cities in India and shall recommend the same to my friends and colleagues as well. Thank you and keep up the good work.
