About Horanadu

Hornadu is a holy village widely known for its Annapoorna temple. This temple is particularly famous because anyone, regardless of his or her age, religion, gender, or caste is given a full three-course vegetarian meal when they visit. The village of Hornadu is also near the scenic Malnad, making it the perfect destination if you want a mixture of history, culture, and nature as well.  

Rent a car from Zoom and arrive at Hornadu with ease! The best way to get there is via the Bangalore-Mangalore Highway to SH-71. Continue along this road until you reach Belur road and take it to National Highway 234. From there continue along this road until you reach SH106 and follow this to your destination. The entire trip is just over 300KM and should take just about 6 hours, but if you get lost our GPS can guide you the entire way! Get there faster than with a bus or train and stop at your own convenience.

Rent an SUV if you have a big group or rent a sedan such as the Vento or Ford Figo if you have a smaller group or are with your significant other.

Places To Visit

In order to get the most out of your experience, rent a car from Zoom so that you have the freedom to explore Hornadu as you please. No need to negotiate with rickshaw drivers or walk for kilometers, you can drive however and wherever you want.  

Horanadu Temple:
If you are visiting Horanadu, it is a necessity to visit this temple. The main attraction is the “Sri Adishktyatmaka Annapurneshwari Ammanavara Devastana”. This is the main diety of the temple and it is made entirely of gold.

Sri Udbava Ganapathi Temple:
About 3 KM away from the main temple, if you came to see impressive architecture and learn more about the history of this ancient place, you must visit this as well. The easiest way is to trek directly from Hornadu temple, but driving is an option as well.

Bhadra River:
Roughly 4KM away from the main temple, if you want to relax by the river for a picnic with friends and family this is the perfect place to visit. Make sure to bring your own food, as it is difficult to find options for meals in this area.
