Kudremukh is a famous hill station and mountain peak known
for its scenic views, waterfalls, and green forests, located in the Chikmagalur
district of Karnataka. The hill got it’s name from the Kannada phrase “Kudareya
Mukha” which means “horses face”, because the peak of the hill resembles that
of a horses face. This area of Karnataka is particularly bio diverse and
contains a myriad of flora and fauna, and is also now a tiger reserve under the
Bhadra Sanctuary. If a weekend in nature with trekking and relaxation is what
you desire, Kudremukh should be at the top of your list.
Rent a car from Zoom and arrive at Kudremukh with ease! The best way to get there is via the Mangalore-Bangalore Hwy. Continue along this road until you reach SH-71. From there take Belur Road to National Highway 234, then follow SH106 and SH66 until you reach your destination.
