Get Historical: One of the main attractions of Mahabaleshwar is Pratapgarh Fort. Resplendent with a rich history and mazelike in its construction, Pratapgarh offers a high dose of drama and mystery with its hidden chambers and trapdoors. Critical in Shivaji’s ascent to greatness, this fort also houses the Afzal Buruj, the tower beneath which Shivaji buried the head of his enemy Afzal Khan as well as the Bhawani Temple, both of which are worth a visit.

Get High: The overwhelming scenery of Mahabaleshwar and its cool, crisp air is best experienced from it numerous view points, and some of them should definitely be visited on a trip to the town. Some of the best views can be seen from Wilson Point, Bombay Point, Needle Hole Point, Arthur's Seat, Carnac Point, Lodwick Point, Kate's Point, Babbington Point and Connaught Peak.

Explore The Waterbodies: You cannot miss the Venna Lake while you are in Mahabaleshwar, since the lake and its surrounding areas are more or less considered the lifeline of this hill station. However, if you want to venture off the beaten track, then you might want to venture out to Dhobi Falls or Lingmala Falls or find your own temporary falls if you visit Mahabaleshwar during the monsoons.
