Zoomcar self-drive experience shared by Rohan Bhargava, CashKaro.com (Co-founder and CEO)

Being an entrepreneur and finding time for yourself and your family is quite a task. There are hardly any weekend offs, night outs, and get-togethers. That’s a small price you pay for chasing your passion and doing what you love.

That said, there are times when you really (and I mean, REALLY) need a break and catch up on all the missed action. I love travelling and being the co-founder of CashKaro – India’s Largest Cashback & Coupons Website, I get to see a lot of deals from travel retailers we partner with. One thing that caught my eye, when I was planning a family weekend trip was self-driven cars.

Own Your Adventure

I knew that we had a few self-drive partners and instantly started browsing their offers at CashKaro. I was planning a family ride from Delhi to Jaipur on an SUV which would allow me the convenience of enjoying the ride at my own pace with no restrictions whatsoever. Zoomcar offered me an amazing package on a Scorpio with some value additions I never expected.

Since the family trip was a short 2-day trip, I had no interest in driving the vehicle all the way back to Delhi. We had planned for a return flight from Jaipur. Here’s where Zoomcar sweetened the deal with its newly launched HOP service. This incredible service allowed me the flexibility to drop the car to another city, adjacent to Jaipur airport. In short, I drove the car to Jaipur and came back without it. Isn’t that cool?

The trip was all planned and we decided to leave on Saturday early morning at 5.00 am. I received a message from Zoomcar with the car number plate at 4.30 am. We took a cab to Mahipalpur where the car was parked. All I had to do was spot the car, open my app, fill a little checklist, and voila! We were inside the car. I checked the papers, got the keys from the dashboard and started the engine. Pure Bliss!

There was no human intervention and everything was so automated which was astounding. I can truly appreciate the work that went behind all this to make the experience better for customers. The car was clean and well checked. The interiors looked and felt good. It was like I always wanted – a little getaway with my family that was in the offing.

We started the ride and stopped for some breakfast at the Old Rao’s restaurant in the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. I had heard many good reviews about this dhaba and wanted to check for myself. Rightfully so, everything from the premises to food and services was top notch. The food served with desi ghee absolutely made everything tasty. Even during the early morning hours, travelers and tourists came pouring in.

After the hearty breakfast, we set off to cover the bigger part of the trip. We had a long way to go but I had no intention of rushing to the destination. We drove at a comfortable pace with little conversations along the way and a couple of stops here and there. The joy of self-driving is the possibility to explore places at your own will. This, I believe, made this trip really enjoyable.

We reached Jaipur at 10.30 am high on spirits and looking forward to the experiences that lay ahead. After checking in to our hotel, we refreshed a bit and then headed out for the beautiful forts which make the ‘Pink’ city special. The weather was perfect – not too hot yet not too cold. The two days of our stay was pleasant while commuting in a self-driven car made it even better. Zoomcar doesn’t take additional charges for your travel fuel, given the fact that you travel within your fixed kilometer limit. Another benefit it offers, is, that it reimburses for any extra fuel that you refill during the course of your journey.

We had a good family time together – traveling by road to the magnificent Nahargarh Fort, Amer Fort and other such landmarks. Moreover, we relished some delicious food at the ‘Spice Court’ restaurant near Civil Lines. Then, we munched on some yummy Pyaz Kachoris at the ‘Rawat’ restaurant and took diversions to new locations from there on. Exploring Jaipur on our own vehicle made all the difference. Loads of pictures clicked and memories we created on this short trip was unbelievable.

When it was finally time to drop off the car, we drove it to the drop off point which was a kilometer away from the airport. We parked the car and all I had to do was fill a return checklist. That was it. Furthermore, Zoomcar   had a fleeting executive who was generous enough to drop us at the airport, with all our luggage, since a few kilometers were left in our journey. All this at no additional cost! Isn’t that amazing?

If I can sum up the experience in one word, it was simply OUTSTANDING. I appreciate the Zoomcar team for putting in the work to make the customer experience speak for the company. And finally, for me… this will certainly not be the last time booking a Zoomcar 😉

Keep up the great work, guys!
