Zoomcar Spreads Smiles and Good Cheer This Christmas

Christmas calls for celebration, endless family get togethers, lip-smacking food, and of course, for those lovely gifts wrapped and hidden away under the Christmas tree. Christmas, the season of giving, is the most awaited time of the year; a time when everyone comes together in the festive spirit. However, we often find ourselves grappling to think of the perfect gift to give our near and dear ones. We also find ourselves receiving gifts that we don’t associate with or aren’t too excited to have. For instance, that beautiful gift box you received from office, only to realize it’s plum cake! Or the aunty whose patented gift each year has been hankies or lapel pins. Not so exciting, right?

On the other hand, when it comes to our inner circle, we’re aware of their preferences. We want to gift them something they’d love, or something they’ve been dying to buy (usually that outfit they ogled at in a store, or the watch they’ve been checking out obsessively online). We put in days of planning to ensure their Christmas present is the best one yet.

Workplaces, schools and colleges too put the fun factor in Christmas with Secret Santa. Secret Santa, a Western tradition, primarily came into being thanks to a philanthropist named Larry Dean Stewart. This concept essentially entails randomly selecting a person from a group to whom you send gifts. In all honesty, we’d agree we play this game half-heartedly unless we really know the recipient well and are aware of their choices. The safest bet we usually opt for is a box of chocolates, a bottle of wine or gift cards, to name a few.

Surely, the spirit of giving could go much beyond being a ceremonial act and Zoomcar is aspiring for just that. This Christmas, we at Zoomcar are adding a twist to our Christmas celebrations. We’re looking for those of you who wish to be a ‘Santa By Choice’.  No, we’re not talking about sending swanky gifts to some random name you found on a chit. We’re making you a Santa for someone to whom your gifts really matter.

This holiday season, we want to make a difference in the lives of people. We’ve selected a few parking lots as collection centres across all cities where you can drop your old books, toys and clothes. All you’ve got to do is drop your item to one of these centres. What may be trash to you, could be someone’s else’s treasure. We will collect these items and reach out to various NGOs for children. You can locate your nearest collection centre in the list below:
